Central Transport & Relocation (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.
Information we collect
We collect personal information you give us when you request a quote, order packing supplies, contact us or book a move. This can include:
- your name, email address and phone number
- pickup and delivery addresses or suburbs, and your moving date
- details about your move, such as items, stairs and access
- anything else you choose to tell us in a message
When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used for security and to keep the site running. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and whether an enquiry form is submitted. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device type and the pages you visit, in anonymised form. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
We also advertise on Google. To measure which advertisements lead to enquiries, Google Ads records when you reach our site from one of our advertisements, and when you then submit an enquiry form we share the email address and phone number you entered with Google in a hashed (scrambled) form. Google uses this only to match the enquiry to the advertisement and cannot read your details or use them to contact you. You can manage advertising personalisation in your Google Ads Settings.
How we use your information
- to prepare quotes and respond to your enquiries
- to plan, carry out and invoice your move or supplies order
- to contact you about your booking
- to deal with any questions, feedback or claims
- to meet our legal obligations, such as keeping tax records
We do not sell your personal information, and we will not send you marketing unless you have agreed to receive it.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where needed to provide our services or where the law requires it, for example with storage facilities when we arrange storage for you, our accounting and invoicing provider (Hnry), Google (for website analytics and advertising measurement, as described above), and our website and email providers.
Storage and security
Enquiries sent through our website are stored securely in our website system and sent to our business email. Our website is hosted by Bluehost, whose servers are located in the United States, so your information may be stored overseas. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas providers protect your information to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then securely delete it. Enquiries are kept for 12 months, and job and invoice records are kept for 7 years for tax purposes.
Cookies and third-party content
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Some pages include Google Maps and Google Fonts, which are provided by Google and may collect technical information such as your IP address under Google’s privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it. To make a request, contact Sharif at [email protected] or 022 094 6767. We will respond within 20 working days.
If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
